Adventure Flights

Recent feedback from Spring 2010 Vegas Trip (thanks all!). We took 4 airplanes (1 instructor + 2 guests per airplane to Las Vegas)
It was a great trip. I really enjoyed it and would do it again in a heartbeat. I especially enjoyed the interesting stops along the way.

Perhaps the only criticism I have is that there wasn't enough meat at Pampas. :-)

Thanks for organizing the trip, you did a great job. I had a fun time, the route was varied and challenging, the instructors were professional and skilled, and the accommodations were excellent and reasonably priced.

Can I just say -- I had the TIME OF MY LIFE! Thanks for your talents and for organizing such an amazing trip. It was a dream come true for me. Can't wait to see everyone's photos.

What are Adventure Flights?
Adventure flights are training flights that take you outside of the range of experience you frequently get stuck in while training as a student, or even for some people who have been flying for a number of years.

Here in California, we have it easy. The weather is perfect most of the year, a large part of the state is flat with many sea level (or nearly so) airports. Adventure flights are a way to break the rut, go someplace different, learn how to get to places that you have wanted to take your family or friends but were not confident in your experience to do them, and enjoy the cameraderie of fellow pilots.

For longer trips, we often have multiple airplanes going together. Under certain conditions you may be able to try your hand at formation flying.

Where do Adventure Flights go?
Wherever there is student demand! Past trips have included Las Vegas (gain mountain, desert, and Class B airspace experience), Los Angeles/San Diego (gain very complex airspace experience), Norther California mountains (lots of hills and small tricky airports).

Future possibilites include a "Fog Hunter" trip (which would seek out fog bound coastal airports for real-world IFR training), Catalina Island (an very unique and somewhat challenging experience), maybe even Mexico or Canada.

Got an idea? Let me know!

Who can go?
The flights are designed primarily for student pilots and low-time private pilots. However, non-pilots and experienced pilots are welcome and have joined these trips in the past.
